Preparation
Knowing where to start when you want to buy a new home or refinance an existing mortgage can be an overwhelming question. Getting yourself organized can give you a solid foundation that will help you move through the mortgage process.
Whether you are buying or refinancing, start by gathering your financial documents. Gathering this information will be a basis for which you can get pre-approved and ultimately approved for the loan you need. Here is a basic list of items that you will need to gather:
- 30 Days Most Recent Pay Stubs
- 2 Months Most Recent Bank Statements
- 2 Years W2s
- 2 Years Federal Tax Returns
- Recent Mortgage Statement (If you own a property)
These items, along with your credit score will be used to pre-approve you for a loan. Don’t worry if you don’t know what your credit score is. We’ll run your credit for you and help you understand what your credit report says and how you might be able to improve your credit scores.
Ok, now that you have gathered the information above, you are ready to get pre-approved!
